Finish

Resistant to time, weather and fashion. The 1 Inch All Aluminum takes Emeco's craft to its conclusion: 80 % recycled aluminium, shaped by hand.

Designed in 2018 by Jasper Morrison, it recasts the 1 Inch collection in an all-aluminium version — same strength, same lightness, same longevity. Its perforated seat and back let water drain and wind pass through; each perforation is slightly domed, adding rigidity while reducing weight.

Recycled aluminium, lifetime warranty

A structure of just 3 kg, stackable six high. The brushed finish is an anodising integrated into the metal — hard, scratch-resistant, cleanable with pressurised water. Approved for outdoor and marine environments.

Responsible manufacturing

Made in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Lifetime warranty (estimated life expectancy of at least 150 years). Carbon footprint: 13.16 kg CO₂e. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable at the end of its life.

Age-proof, weather-proof, trend-proof

Hand-formed from recycled aluminium. Guaranteed for life. Outdoor approved. For the 1 Inch All Aluminum, Jasper Morrison drew on Emeco's heritage — 80% recycled aluminium, worked by hand — and its characteristic strength, lightness and durability.

Emeco 1 Inch All Aluminum chair, brushed aluminium

Recycled. Recyclable. Endlessly.

Most of the aluminium produced in the late 19th century is still in circulation today. Recycling aluminium saves 95% of the energy required for its primary production — hence an exceptionally low carbon footprint.

Light, very strong, maintenance-free

Fireproof, non-magnetic and non-bacterial: the 1 Inch All Aluminum suits high-traffic spaces as well as sensitive environments such as healthcare. The anodised finish can be cleaned with bleach and withstands high-pressure washing. The circular perforations in the seat and back drain rainwater and let the wind through; each perforation, slightly domed, adds rigidity while reducing weight.

Outdoor and marine approved — design Jasper Morrison

Emeco's aluminium furniture is not only outdoor approved: it is approved for marine applications, with far higher corrosion-resistance requirements. That is what the US Navy required when Emeco began making mil-spec chairs for ships and submarines in 1944 — and that is how they are still made.
