Za, in Japanese, means a place to sit. Naoto Fukasawa gave the name to a family of stools stripped to the essential: a 28 cm seat, no ornament, nothing that does not serve.

The stool is handcrafted from recycled aluminium at Emeco's workshop in Hanover, Pennsylvania. It weighs 2 kg in its two lower versions and 3 kg as a barstool — light enough to be moved with one hand, solid enough to be guaranteed for life, indoors and out.

Four seat heights: 35 cm, 47.5 cm, 63.5 cm for a counter, 76 cm for a bar. Eight finishes: hand-brushed or hand-polished aluminium, and six powder-coated shades — white grey, dark grey, coral orange, green, light blue, brown. All are approved for outdoor use, except the polished finish, which is for indoors only.

Polycarbonate glides. Delivered fully assembled. Strength and stability to ANSI/BIFMA X5.1. Aluminium is naturally fireproof and endlessly recyclable.
