The archetype of the desk lamp, redefined.

Architect David Chipperfield sought to design the archetype of the desk lamp, the one we all remember, but by purifying it to its bare essentials. The guiding principle is the absence of any visible joints: there are no screws, no cables, no mechanisms. It's a continuous pencil line, a functional sculpture that commands a calm presence.

Materials & Technique: The choice of solid brass or blackened steel is not cosmetic, but structural. The lamp is heavy, stable, and grounded. The head pivots thanks to an invisible ball bearing, allowing for smooth adjustment with a simple touch. The light is treated to be warm and intimate, focused on the reading area.

Living Materials:Available in Solid Brass or Blackened Steel, the lamp develops a patina over time, gaining character without ever being structurally altered.

Invisible Rotation:A head mounted on internal ball bearings, allowing smooth 140° orientation without any visible joints.

Stability & Anchoring:A heavy base that ensures perfect stability on the desk.

Touch Dimmer:Light intensity can be controlled directly from the base, allowing you to switch from a working light to a dim ambiance.

Warm Light (2700K):A soft color temperature, designed for reading comfort.

COB LED

The energy-efficient COB LED, combined with a reflector and diffuser, provides a high-quality, evenly distributed, and glare-free warm white light.

Full spectrum LED

Designed to recreate the full, continuous color spectrum of sunlight, full-spectrum light possesses a rich, deep quality impossible to achieve with the limited spectrum of a standard LED. It also offers superior color rendering, making it an ideal choice for environments where accurate color perception is essential.

Sophisticated mechanics

Like a fine watch, the w102 Chipperfield has been meticulously designed down to the smallest mechanical details. From the swiveling base of the desk lamp to the articulated arm of the wall and floor versions, clever engineering delivers a tactile and enjoyable user experience; even the dimmer is a delight for the senses.
