The Chesa Chair by Karimoku New Standard, designed by Jörg Boner, is a dining chair in solid Japanese oak, with an enveloping rounded backrest and slender lines. A light and sturdy frame, designed for everyday use at home and in contract settings.

Material and finish

Solid oak and oak-veneered plywood. Available in 4 finishes: Pure Oak, Grain Gray, Grain Matt Black, and Terracotta. Made to order. Design Jörg Boner.

Made in Japan for your order, in the finish you choose: approximately 20 weeks. As a piece made to your specifications, it is not eligible for the right of withdrawal.

Designed by Swiss designer Jörg Boner, the Chesa Chair unites front leg and backrest in a single curved line, creating a protective seating space. A dining chair conceived for the home as much as for the office.

Solid oak from northern Japan

Curved frame in solid oak, sustainably sourced from the forests of northern Japan — low-diameter trees given value by advanced Japanese craftsmanship. Five finishes available: Pure Oak, Grain Gray, Grain Matt Black, Grey Green, Terracotta. Made to order.

Jörg Boner

Trained as a cabinetmaker and design draughtsman before studying design at the Höhere Schule für Gestaltung in Basel, Jörg Boner has run his own studio in Zurich since 2001. The Chesa Chair bears his signature: an assertive structural gesture, in which a single curved line forms the front leg and the backrest.
