Sam Hecht and Kim Colin (Industrial Facility)

Sam Hecht and Kim Colin founded their studio, Industrial Facility, to apply careful consideration of form, coupled with a unique understanding of contemporary life, bringing forth the beauty of utility through the products, furniture, and exhibitions they design. Hecht, originally from London, is an industrial designer by training, while Colin, originally from Los Angeles, trained as an architect.
Counting avant-garde companies such as Muji and Herman Miller among their clients, they are renowned for their philosophical yet pragmatic approach. Both have been named Royal Designers, an honour that recognises enduring excellence in design and its significant contribution to society. Their work is featured in most major permanent collections, including those of MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the V&A in London.
