FRANCA STAGI & CESARE LEONARDI

Major figures in Italian design during the 1960s and 1970s, Cesare Leonardi (1935-2021) and Franca Stagi (1937-2008) marked their era with a radical approach to furniture and light.

Their studio, based in Modena from 1963 to 1983, produced iconic pieces now held in the collections of MoMA in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Vitra Design Museum. Their creations in fiberglass and metal, such as the famous Nastro chair, explored the possibilities of new materials with remarkable formal freedom.

The Jeep lamp , created in 1968 for the Italian manufacturer Lumenform, embodies their vision: an adjustable metal structure and a Fresnel lens combine to create an object that is both sculptural and functional. Éditions Antifer is reissuing this rare piece with the same exacting standards of craftsmanship that inspired its creators.
