Franca Stagi & Cesare Leonardi

Major figures of Italian design from the 1960s and 1970s, Cesare Leonardi (1935-2021) and Franca Stagi (1937-2008) marked their era with a radical approach to furniture and lighting.
Their studio, based in Modena from 1963 to 1983, gave birth to iconic pieces now held at the MoMA in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Vitra Design Museum. Their creations in fibreglass and metal, such as the famous Nastro (Ribbon) chair, explored the possibilities of new materials with remarkable formal freedom.
The Jeep lamp, created in 1969 for the Italian editor Lumenform in Scorzè, embodies their vision: an articulated metal structure and a Fresnel lens, which together compose an object both sculptural and functional. Antifer reissues it with the same exacting standards that drove its creators.
