Aménager un espace de télétravail design et ergonomique

Create a designer and ergonomic remote working space

remote work has become a lasting part of our lives. In 2026, nearly one in three French workers work regularly from home. However, many people still make do with a corner table or an improvised desk in a poorly lit corner. Setting up a real work space at home means investing in your comfort, productivity and health.

Why your office deserves as much attention as your living room

A poorly designed work space generates visual fatigue, back tension and loss of concentration. Conversely, a well-appointed office becomes a place where you enjoy sitting down every morning. Three elements are determining: the work surface, the lighting and the ergonomics of the workstation.

The table: a surface adapted to your practice

The standard 120 × 60 cm desktop is suitable for a portable screen. But as soon as you add an external monitor, a notebook or a second screen, you should aim for 140 to 180 cm wide. This is precisely the advantage of a custom-made table: the top adapts to the available space and actual use.

A solid oak top brings warmth and character. Faust linoleum offers a soft-touch surface, slightly cushioning under the wrist – real comfort for long hours of work. Combined with an E2 base in black steel, it creates a desk with a clean line, stable and silent.

Lighting: the invisible factor in your productivity

Natural light remains irreplaceable. Ideally, place your desk perpendicular to the window to avoid reflections on the screen while still benefiting from daylight. But from late afternoon — and all winter long — good additional lighting becomes essential.

Color temperature plays a little-known role. Between 4000 and 5000 kelvins, light promotes concentration and alertness. Below 3000 K, it invites you to relax. Wästberg lamps allow just this adjustment. The Pastille by Jonas Wagell diffuses soft, directed light, perfect for a glare-free office. The w102, designed by David Chipperfield, offers a strong graphic presence with its articulated aluminum arm.

Ergonomics: beyond the chair

We talk a lot about the office chair, but ergonomics also depends on the height of the top (ideally 72-75 cm), the depth of the seat and the position of the screen. The top of the screen should be at eye level, about an outstretched arm's distance.

The Emeco 1 Inch Reclaimed chair, with its slightly curved seat and aluminum structure, can be an elegant alternative to the classic office chair on casters — particularly in a space where the desk also serves as a living room.

Compose your space: our selection

For a compact desk (120-140 cm), we recommend a Faust anthracite linoleum top on black E2 base, completed by a Pastille lamp. For a large desk (160-200 cm), a solid oak top on Sinus base allows you to elegantly accommodate two screens, lit by a w102 Chipperfield.

The main thing is to create a coherent whole where each element – surface, light, seat – contributes to overall comfort. An office that you enjoy coming to every morning is already half the work accomplished.
